A Year in the Making: How One Young Rider Won the Bike of His Dreams

Over a year ago, a young boy and his dad were riding their bicycles past our shop on their way to grab ice cream from BJ’s. They noticed the brand‑new KX110 on display for our upcoming Grand Reopening giveaway. The boy stopped, stared, and instantly fell in love. His dad let him enter the drawing, and from that day on, the bike became part of their weekly routine.

Every week — sometimes more — he would stop by just to sit on the KX110. He’d look it over, talk about how he’d ride it, and dream out loud the way only a seven‑year‑old can. And a week before the event, he came in to drop one more ticket into the box, just in case. The day before the Grand Reopening, he and his dad stopped by again so he could get one last look at the bike he’d been wishing for all year.

Then came the big day.

With over 1,000 entries in the drawing, the crowd packed in tight as we pulled the winning ticket. The energy was unreal — and when we read the name, the entire place erupted. Against all odds, the young boy who had been dreaming about that KX110 for more than a year… won it.

The look on his face. The way his dad froze, then smiled bigger than he probably has in years. The crowd cheering like they just watched a championship finish.
